How do you find the answer to this?

10.5 times 5.25

I did not search google because I want someone to explain the steps to getting the answer.
PS: I can multiply I just never learned how to multiply decimals.

well here is one way

105/ 10 * 525 /100 = (105 * 525) / 1000 = 55125/1000 = 55.125

there are lots of online sites that show how to multiply multi-digit numbers with decimal places. You just line up the decimal points, and proceed as usual. Or, forget the decimal points during the multiplication, and then make sure that the product has as many decimal places as the two numbers combined.

Note that Damon's answer is just 105*525, with 2+1=3 decimal places.

To multiply decimals, you need to follow a few simple steps:

Step 1: Ignore the decimal points and multiply the numbers as if they were whole numbers.

In this case, multiply 10.5 by 5.25 like you would with whole numbers:

10.5 x 5.25 = 55125

Step 2: Count the total number of decimal places in both the numbers you're multiplying.

In our example, 10.5 has one decimal place (the zero after the decimal point), and 5.25 has two decimal places (the zero and five after the decimal point).

Step 3: Place the decimal point in the answer by counting the total number of decimal places.

Since there are three decimal places in total (one from 10.5 and two from 5.25), place the decimal point three places from the right in the answer.

The final answer is 55.125.

So, 10.5 multiplied by 5.25 equals 55.125.
