What are reasons as to why some states have more crimes than others?
I know that one obvious answer would be that some states have a larger population, but I am trying to find a much more deeper answer. Maybe such as poverty, but could someone help me list out other factors?
For example, Texas is one of the biggest states; so how could I compare the crimes in Texas to a much smaller state; such as Florida?
Misdemeanors or felonies? What degree of severity?
Violent crimes or property crimes or what?
Cities or small towns?
Size of population? Demographics? Ethnicity/race? Poverty?
