1) Find the Sum of -7 + (-5) = -2
2) Find the Sum of -4 + 16 = 12
3) Find the Sum of -48 + 16 = -32
4) Find the Sum of -8 + (-14) = 6
5) At 7:00 a.m, the temperature was 8°c. What was the temperature at midnight if the temperature was 10°c lower?

I forgot the add the answer on the last one, my answer was -2°c

#1. No. -7 + (-5) = -7 - 5 = -12

-7 - (-5) = -7+5 = -2
#2 ok
#3 ok
#4 no. See #1
#5 ok

better review adding negatives to negatives
Use the number line, remembering that adding a negative moves you to the left

thanks @oobleck

1) Find the Sum of -7 + (-5) = -2:

To find the sum of two numbers, you simply add them together. In this case, you need to add -7 and -5. When you add negative numbers, the result becomes more negative. So, -7 + (-5) = -12.

2) Find the Sum of -4 + 16 = 12:
Similar to the previous question, you need to add -4 and 16. When you add a negative number and a positive number, the result depends on their magnitudes. In this case, -4 + 16 = 12.

3) Find the Sum of -48 + 16 = -32:
Again, the process is the same. Add -48 and 16. The sign of the answer depends on the relative magnitudes of the numbers. In this case, -48 + 16 = -32.

4) Find the Sum of -8 + (-14) = 6:
Just like before, you add -8 and -14. The sign of the answer will be negative since both numbers are negative. In this case, -8 + (-14) = -22.

5) At 7:00 a.m, the temperature was 8°C. What was the temperature at midnight if the temperature was 10°C lower?
To find the temperature at midnight, you need to subtract 10 from the initial temperature of 8°C. Subtracting a value means you are taking it away from the original value. In this case, 8°C - 10°C = -2°C. So, the temperature at midnight would be -2°C.
