Question #1 on the Open Book Test is an essay question worth 16 points. Essay responses require a three paragraph response with an introduction, body, and conclusion. Use this as your guide:

Introduction - Your introduction should restate the question, include the title and author of the story you have chosen to discuss, and include a clear theme statement for that story. (This should be the A in the ACES strategy.)

Body - The body paragraph should include your complete answer, support, evidence, and explanation. How do you know this is the theme? How do the character’s actions, conflict, resolution, etc. help to develop the theme. Make sure to answer all questions asked within the prompt and include specific textual support. (The body paragraph should include the C and E of the ACES strategy.)

Conclusion - Include final thoughts, reflection, and restate the theme. (This should be the S in the ACES strategy.)

Question #2 asks you about your IRS. There are several questions about your IRS to answer. One of the questions is "What impact did your book has have on you as a reader?" This means how has it affected you? Did it make you think about anything differently or make you realize anything important?

This is an interesting assignment.

what does ACEs? stand for?

can you help me?

How would you like us to help you?

and like I'm not very good at typing a story into 3 paragraph I can write just about anything except writing about a book I just read into paragraphs

Don't worry about the paragraphs now. Just answer the questions. Later you can edit it into three paragraphs.

okay well my answer is~ I'm going to write about The Drummer Boy of Shiloh

and it's about a young boy named Joby and he is going to be the drummer for the battle of Shiloh.and he is afraid about the war so he lays down and starts to cry because of how scared he is and the general help him calm down by saying that he was scared to be in this battle. but the general gave Joby confidence to lead them into war and after the war, there were around 23,000 soldiers that died in that war.

We can't begin to read it until you use appropriate punctuation and capitalization. Have you heard about sentences?

It's about a young boy named Joby and he is going to be the drummer for the battle of Shiloh. He is afraid about the war so he lays down and starts to cry, because of how scared he is , and the general help him calm down. He said that he was scared to be in this battle too. The general gave Joby confidence to lead them into war and after the war, there were around 23,000 soldiers that died in that war.

Now rewrite it following instructions for the introduction.

I will try but I'm for sure going to fail horribly ma' ma😑😥😫

Why can't you write the author and title?

I can but restating the question

I'm stumped on that one. What is the question?

How do various elements of the story-conflict and resolution, character's dialogue and behavior-contribute to the story theme? The Drummer Boy of Shiloh by Ray Bradbury

like that?

I think this is the question ~ How do various elements of the story-conflict and resolution, character's dialogue and behavior-contribute to the story theme?

Restate the theme: The theme is that everyone is scared but we need to continue on and be brave.

The most moving detail that contributes to the story's theme is the general's confession that he's scared too.

How do various elements of the story-conflict and resolution, character's dialogue and behavior-contribute to the story theme? The theme is that everyone is scared but we need to continue on and be brave. The Drummer Boy of Shiloh by Ray Bradbury

I have heard if sentences I don't really care about sentences until I'm editing them ,but most of the time I forget to and I write run-on sentences but Ma'ma I will fix it.
