I have to write in AP Style.

The judge ordered a suspended sentence for the convicted felon and said the parole would stand as long as Jones followed the guidelines for good behavior.

Any public relations professional must al least consider a set of ethical principals before deciding to pursue a questionable campaign.

Neither they nor he are going.

Just reading these sentences, though, I'd say the first one is wordy and needs to be cut into two sentences; the second is too wordy; in the third, I'd reverse "they" and "he" but keep the rest the same.
