For #3, you are to indicate which one is more of "an informal tone." If you're unclear on the difference between formal and informal, be sure to look those terms up at www.onelook.com.

Re-read the choices for #2, and consider the other three. Which one would a SUCCESSFUL writer use when she doesn't know who will read the essay? Is she writing only for those who read Spanish? Only for those who read English? Or … ?
