Two sides are 2 * 9 = 36 square inches
Two sides are 2 * 6 = 24 square inches.

What Mrs. Sue means by 2 * 9 = 36 is that there are two sides. So, you would have to add that to the equation, meaning 2 * 2 * 9.

then 54 + 24 + 36 = 114
