What is the correct Spanish word ponare or poned or pomed?

I have a hard time hearing the word on my online Spanish class, and I need to know what it means. I think it means 'to eat' or 'to put in mouth', but I can't quite hear how to pronounce it.
Thanks! clickhorse

I think it's 'comed' or something right?

Unfortunately Jiskha does not have a regular Spanish tutor. I tried several variations of your word in this site, but found nothing. You could try other spellings.

The correct Spanish word you are referring to is likely "poner" which is pronounced as "poh-NEHR." "Poner" is a verb in Spanish that means "to put" or "to place." It does not mean "to eat" or "to put in mouth."

If you have trouble hearing the word in your online Spanish class, there are a few things you can try to improve your understanding:

1. Increase the volume: Make sure the volume on your device or computer is turned up so that you can hear the audio clearly.

2. Use headphones: Connecting headphones can help to isolate the sound and make it easier for you to hear.

3. Ask for repetition: If you are still having difficulty hearing the word, don't hesitate to ask your teacher or classmates to repeat it for you. They may be able to pronounce it more clearly or provide additional explanations.

4. Seek additional resources: Consider using online Spanish pronunciation resources or apps that are specifically designed to help improve your listening skills. These resources often provide audio recordings and allow you to practice your pronunciation.

Remember, practice makes perfect! The more you expose yourself to Spanish words and sentences, the easier it will become to understand and pronounce them correctly.
