1. List some ideas that The Giver includes. Why did you choose those ideas?

2. Tell how using a reading role helped you understand the book. Support your response with at least two pieces of evidence from the novel.

For the first one can someone help me come up with the ideas? I don't understand what kind of ideas im supposed to use.
And the second can someone help me find evidence for the reading role Discussion Director(this is about finding images) OR Summarizer (finding the main idea)??

Im sorry that this is a lot but I need help

I appreciate the information given but I'm still having trouble. Can someone check these?

1. A couple ideas that The Giver includes is that we're all people, and its part of life to have feelings of sadness, pain, and, of course happiness and love.
I decided to do Word Watcher and Summarizer for #2. I'll figure something out for Word Watcher.
For Summarizer i believe the main idea of The Giver is that the "perfect" life in a utopian society isn't really living a true life.

Can someone give me advice on how to improve those and maybe add onto it? Thank you so much if you decide to help!

that is correct

OMG thanks for the help really needed it

yeah yeah

thank you

what do you mean by ideas

You're very welcome!

For "finding ideas" in the book, think about it this way:

~ Is there a particularly important lesson the author wants you to learn by reading this story?
~ Is there a secret message the author is trying to get through to you as a reader?

Use the answers to one or both those questions to come up with the ideas to write about.

Hi Write teacher!thank you so much! This was exactly what I was looking for. It helped alot!

Thank you!

Only YOU can write all this. No one here has read the book, but I sure hope you have.

What are the key facts and/or main ideas in this selection?
If you were to come up with an essay topic for this selection, what main idea would you choose? Write an essay question or prompt.

Luminary
The Luminary character points to a glowing lightbulb. As Luminary, you will think about the following:
Which part of the reading (e.g., an interesting fact, a piece of dialogue, an event) really struck you? Why?

The Connector character stands on a giant puzzle. As Connector, you will think about the following:
Connect what you have read so far with things you have experienced in your personal life.
