    Child = y
    Father = y + 32
    Year of Father = x
    Year difference = z

    3x = y + 3(y + 32)
    3x = 12 + 3(12 + 32)
    3x = 144
    x = 48

    z = 48 - (12 + 32)
    z = 48 - 44
    z = 4
