Yes, D is the only answer. This is one of the worst questions I've seen from these on-line "schools", and I've seen a lot of terrible ones (as we all have).

No offense, MD_catlady, but you should not be "lazy". Jiskha is here to be a helping tool for those willing to put in the effort and do the best they can. This website is meant to help students when they struggle, and it is here to help students understand, not just give answers to kids can get 100%'s and then fail SAT tests. I get good ISAT scores because I try the best I can and ask for HELP when I need it, NOT just ANSWERS to get by one more test. Besides. you are correct about your self-observation because someone literally posted answers two comments above yours. Happy New Year, All!
