first essay: in the late 1800s and early 1900s spokane and seattle went through change because of population growth. The reason the population increased so much is because of the railroads

second essay: washington’s farming mining lumber and other industries benefit each other because they helped set each other up. for example lumber workers would clear out fields for the farmers to plant their crops and feed their cattle.
