There are 72 boys and 90 girls on a math team. For the next competition, Mr Johnson would like to arrange all the students in equal rows with only girls and only boys in each row. What is the greatest number of students that can be in each row?
Answer: 72 + 90=162
162/2=86
Can you please double check my answer above.
9 rows with 8 boys each
9 rows with 10 girls each
The greatest number of students that can be in each row would be 18
18 i sware i did the work and i also asked dummys
this was a khan academy question and i got 18 and it was right!!!
I don’t know if you guys are right but I think it is 18
THANK YOU
Anyone else get this on homework and looking for answers😅
18
read the question again carefully.
Only boys or girls in each row. Why did you combine them into rows of 18?
I was wrong. The greatest number of students that can be in each row is 9 because there would be a total of 18 rows.
No 18 is correct because
72: 1,2,3,4,6,8,9,12,(18),24,36,72
90:1,2,3,5,6,9,10,15,(18),30,45,90
that is the only Greatest Common Factor(GCF) of 72 and 90
