An object moves along the path x^2 - y^2 = 5. At the point (-3, 2),dx/dt = -4. Find dy/dt at that same point.

I understand that dy/dt of the function is y' = x/y but I am not sure how to find it at that specific point. Could you please help? Thank you!

  1. implicit differentiation

    2 x dx/dt - 2 y dy/dt = 0

    substituting

    [2*(-3)*(-4)] - [2*2*(dy/dt)] = 0
