how many 5-digit palindromes exist?

i get 9*10*10*10*9=81000 is this correct?

my thinking being that the first and last digit must be 1-9 and the other 3 0-9.

thanks again for the time and effort.

oh, and if any of you fine folks have the time could you browse down to my other question titled math: unting and perumtations? (my keyboard is acting up, meant counting)

thanks again

well, i think i've figured this one out finally.

the answer should be 1*1*10*10*9 because the 1st and second digits only have one possible number once the 4th and 5th digit are set.

thanks to all that took time to look at this one for me.
