Compare the line passing through the points (−3, −11) and (6, 4) to the line given by the equation y=35x−6.

A. They have the same slope.
B. They have the same x-intercept.
C. The two lines are perpendicular.

1. slope = 15/9 = 5/3
y-4 = 5/3 (x-6)
y = 5/3 x - 6

The lines are not perpendicular, because the slopes are not negative reciprocals.

The line through the points is perpendicular to

y = -3/5 x - 6

However, they do both have a y-intercept of -6.
