  1. Perhaps if you'd shown what you had done so far, you'd have gotten a more satisfactory answer. Or you might have asked what was silly about the problem.

Remember we are here to help you, not do your work for you.

You were told yesterday that your question made no sense. My suggestion is that you go over it, sentence by sentence, and make sure everything is perfect. (Proofreading)

THEN you show what YOU THINK the steps are toward answering this. ("Please show your work.") No one here will do your work for you. Tutors need to know what YOU KNOW and where you are running into trouble before they can truly help you.

From the Post a New Question page:

    Please show your work.
Tutors will not do your homework for you. Please show your work for any question that you are posting.

Please proofread your question. Does your question use proper grammar, capitalization, and spelling?

Please be patient. All tutors are volunteers, and sometimes a tutor is not immediately available. Please be patient while waiting for a response to your question.

  4. Yes, if you post your work as far as you have taken it, and tell us where you are stuck, a math tutor may well be able to help you. Then we know where you are stuck and what you don't understand. We can't start from the beginning and give you the answer. We need to know what confuses you, as Ms. Sue said above, so that we may help you overcome your confusion.
