Math TRUE or FALSE Help

You do not need to flip the inequality sign when solving the inequality -3t + 7 ≥ 9. TRUE or FALSE?

I'm not that great at knowing when to flip inequality signs... Can someone help me ASAP?

Thank you for your assistance in advance.

  1. Flip the sign when you multiply or divide both sides by a negative number.

  2. Usually you do not have to worry about flipping until the last step, or until you have isolated the variable term on one side

    e.g.

    -3t + 7 ≥ 9
    -3t ≥ 9-7
    -3t ≥ 2
    now we care about it.

Whenever you multiply or divide by a negative number, we have to switch the direction of the inequality sign

so to get t all alone, we have to divide by -3 , thus
    t ≤ -2/3
