  1. Ok, some will take that answer, and some will take any other answer. I have seen some texts pronounce b) the answer. It is a very bad question. Ionic bonds and molecular bonds vary, and overlap each other. And, it depends on the products of the breaking (ions or atoms).

  2. I agree that this isn't a good question. For example, diamond is a covalent bond an is the hardest material known.
