So, that seems to contradict your guess that he helped conquer Peru, doesn't it, unless Peru is suddenly in North America and moved without telling me. Guessing will get you nowhere. Now that you have a vague idea what his objectives were, did he accomplish them? Did he explore? Did he conquer anyone?

He did explore a great deal of what is now the southeastern portion of the United States. He did not "conquer" much of anybody. So the statement is partially true, partially false. I think it's a poor question, but I agree with your answer as the best choice given the question.
