  4. I am going to be an iconoclast on this one, I think the answers miss the point. The principal initial objection by the colonists was that it was a tax solely on internal colony business, but later, as the furor developed, a greater resistance and objection developed: taxation without representation. So if that is true, then C is the answer, but frankly, I vote for not answering the question with the answers given.
