The top square starts #7 down
The second letter of that starts #10 across
The long one across is #8
The second box of 8 across is #5 down
The long one going down from #8 is #11 down
Coming off of the third square of 11D is #1 across
The next to the last letter in 1 across starts #2 down
Coming off of the fifth square in that is #6 across
The next to the last letter in 6 across has #3 down
Going back to 11 Down, the 8th box down is the last letter to 4 across
The first letter of 4A has 9 down
The last letter of 11Down is 12 across
I think that it was scarabs which were thought to have magical powers or something
