  1. 1. He wants 1/2 pound of chicken so one complete serving. The remainder is 1/4, half of a half is one fourth so the answer is 1 and a half servings.
    2. (n ×3/2) ×2 n being the original amount the recipe calls for
    3. Use the formula to solve
4.yes oregano, no for the hot sauce. Use the formula to show your work

  7. For A, the recipe makes 1 1/2 servings. Since each serving is 1/2, you divide 3/4 by 1/2 which is 1 1/2.
For B, Chef Alonso should multiply 3/4 by 4/3 to get 2 servings. This is because one serving is 1/2 lb and two servings is 1lb. If you multiply 3/4 to 4/3, you get 12/12 or 1.

  8. For C, you multiply each ingredients to 4/3. Tomato Sauce - 5/2 x 4/3 = 20/6 or 3 2/6. Oregano - 1/1 x 4/3 = 1 1/3. Special Hot Sauce - 1/2 x 4/3 = 4/6 or 2/3. 1lb chicken, 3 2/6 cups of tomato sauce, 1 1/3 teaspoons of oregano, and 2/3 teaspoon of his special Hot Sauce.
