  1. 3 n^2 = 3 n

    n^2 - n = 0

    n(n-1) = 0

    n = 0 or n = 1

  2. Not quite
    9^(1/2) = 3
    but
    (n^4)^(1/2) = n^2

    so the answer is 3n^2

  3. Is that 3 n not on the right or is that the student's attempt at an answer?
