  1. ok, i read this as the 3 kg is on the horizontal surface, the 2kg is pulling it.

    F=ma
    2g=(2+3)a
    solve for.

    then,
    d=1/2 a t^2
    .8=1/2 a:(above) * t^2 solve for time t.
