Each of the twelve Federal Reserve district banks is also authorized to dispose of unusable currency WHETHER it be old, soiled, OR worn.

1:A,A
2:B,B***
3:A,B
4:B,A

B,B is my answer. Is this correct?

Whether is a subordinate conjunction. Or is a coordinating conjunction.

In my book...it says whether/or as a correlative.....or is also under coordinating.....so I'm confused.

Oh, I see. Whether . . . or -- are used as a pair of correlative conjunctions. So you're right. I didn't read the sentence correctly the first time. Sorry.

That is okay.....Thank you, so very much....I just wanted to be sure...:o)

Correlative conjunctions are used in pairs, as shown in the chart on that webpage I linked.

When they're not used in pairs, then they can be coordinating conjunctions, subordinating conjunctions, or sometimes just adverbs.

Thank you, Writeacher!

You're welcome.
