I wanted to see if I was solving this problem correctly. A line passes through the point (3,8)and has a slope of 2.Write an equation for this line.
y=mx+b
m=2
y=2x+b
8=2(3)+b

Math

so far so good. Now just solve for b and plug that into your formula.
Then check that (3,8) satisfies the equation.
