A batter hits a ball and it is caught 4 seconds later 100 meters from home plate. What is the initial velocity of the ball?

• Physics -

horizontal velocity=100/4 m/s

vertical velocity:
viv*4=1/2 g 4^2
or vertical velocity=1/2 g *16/4=2*9.8

velocityinitial= sqrt(verticalvel^2+horizvel^2)
