Can somebody tell me if this is the right answer. Solve 8 is to 64 as 2 is to x, (x-1)^2=64 (8)^2=64 is

  • math -

    What does x equal?

    Why are you squaring anything?

  • math -

    Is 64 the right answer yes or no, to the question I put up there.

  • math -

    x does not equal 64.

    8 / 64 = 2 / x

    Cross multiply and solve for x.

    8x = 128
    x = 128/8
    x = 16
