solve this equation. log (2x + 1) base 2 = -3

  • maths -

    Since we're taking logs base 2, the equation means that

    2x+1 = 2^(-3) = 1/8
    2x = -7/8
    x = -7/16

    sure enough,
    log_2(1/8) = -3
