How do you know when you should re write as a mixed number or simplify; for example.
1 1/2 x 23/9=
3/1 x 23/9=
69/18= what is the way to tell if I should simplify or re write as a mixed number?

3/1 x 23/9=
This should be 3/2 * 23/9
69/18 = 3 15/18 = 3 5/6
Divide the numerator by the denominator
