pencils come in packages of 24. The teacher needs 80 pencils for a test. How many packages will he need to purchase?

80/24 = 3 1/3 boxes
However, he can't buy 1/3 of a box  so he should purchase 4 boxes. 
Divide 24 into 80 to give you the number of packages. You will need to round up to get the correct answer. There will be more than 80 pencils, but the teacher will have to buy that number of packages to be sure to have enough.
