mr lee's garden is square shaped. he planted 100% of it. 1/3 of it was carrots. 1/3 of it was tomatoes. The remained 48 square feet was filled with melons. What is the length of mr lee's garden?

  • math -

    Let x = the area of the garden.

    1/3x + 1/3x + 48 = x

    48 = 1/3x

    48 / (1/3) = x

    48 * (3/1) = 144 sq. ft.

    square root of 144 = 12
