Use the definition of logarithm to simplify each expression.
(a) log6b(6b)
(b)log8b((8b)^6)
(c)log11b((11b)^-9)

  • Math -

    by definition logx(x) = 1 because x^1 = x

    log6b(6b) = 1
    log8b((8b)^6) = 6*log8b(8b) = 6*1 = 6
    similarly,
    log11b((11b)^-9) = -9
