Hanna and Fran have 120. Hanna and Pete have 230.Pete has 6 times as much as Hanna. How much does Hanna have?

  • math -

    h + f = 120
    h + p = 230
    p = 6h

    plug p = 6h into the second
    h + 6h = 230
    7h = 230
    h = 230/7
    p= 6(230/7) = 1380/7
    into 1st
    230/7 + f = 120
    f = 120-230/7 = 610/7

    h = 230/7
    f = 610/7
    p = 1380/7
