To discuss the style of an article, you need to carefully analyze various aspects of the writing. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to approach this task:

1. Read the article: Begin by reading the article from start to finish. Pay attention to the writing style, tone, and the overall flow of ideas.

2. Note the word choice (diction): Focus on the specific words and phrases used by the author. Consider whether they are formal or informal, technical or colloquial, and their impact on the overall message and audience.

3. Identify the tone: Determine the author's tone, which refers to the overall attitude or mood conveyed in the writing. Look for words or phrases that indicate the author's emotional stance or perspective.

4. Analyze metaphorical language: Look for any metaphors or figurative language used in the article. Examine how these metaphors contribute to the author's intended message or enhance the reader's understanding.

5. Assess organization: Consider the structure and organization of the article. Look for logical transitions between paragraphs and sections. Evaluate whether the article follows a chronological order, compare and contrast format, or any other organizational pattern.

6. Examine the use of anecdotes: Determine if the author incorporates personal anecdotes or specific examples to support their arguments. Analyze how these anecdotes contribute to the overall style and impact of the article.

7. Consider the author's purpose: Identify the main objective or purpose of the article. Assess whether the style chosen by the author effectively supports their intended message or goal.

8. Evaluate the target audience: Determine the intended audience for the article. Consider whether the style employed is appropriate for the target readership, and how it may influence their perception or understanding of the subject matter.

9. Assess the occasion: Consider the context in which the article was written. Is it a response to a specific event or issue? Evaluate how the style of the article relates to the occasion and the impact it may have on readers.

10. Evaluate persuasive strategies: Finally, assess any persuasive strategies used by the author, such as appeals to emotions (pathos), appeals to logic (logos), or appeals to ethics (ethos). Consider how effectively these strategies are employed and their impact on the overall message.

By following these steps, you will be able to effectively discuss the style of the article and provide a comprehensive analysis of the various elements at play.
