Solve This Equation x/(x-1)+x=(4x-3)/(x-1)

  • Math -

    multiply by (x-1)

    x + x(x-1) = 4x - 3
    x + x^2 - x = 4x - 3
    x^2 - 4x + 3 = 0
    (x-1)(x-3)= 0
    x = 1 or x = 3

    BUT, x=1 would make the denominator zero and we can't divide by zero, so

    x = 3
