Well, I wouldn't use algebra to solve these, but here goes ...
When you multiply fractions, that's all you have to do ... multiply!
1 x 1 = 1
2 x 3 = 6
Therefore the answer is 1/6.

can someone please correct my mistakes? x/2(3x1)/3 < 1/4 i did: x/2 times 2  (3x1)/3 < 1/4 times 2 (then i crossed out) becomes: x(3x1)/3 times 3 < 1/2 times 3 (crossed them out) = x3x+1 < 3/2 => 2x +1 <3/2
