Writeacher, can you please tell me if I should group the linguistic objectives differently? Being a teacher yourself, could you please tell me if you would include other objectives when considering the study of a scientific subject in a foreign language?

Linguistic objectives to be achieved in the English language

1) demonstrate knowledge and regular use of the basic linguistic structures of English to operate in a scientific/work environment.

2) demonstrate minimum competence with the lexical and skills syllabus of the terms used to describe aquatic biodiversity.

5) demonstrate growth and improvement in their reading skills as they will have to (???) analyze and interpret data derived from different types of sources such as webpages, books, scholarly journals, and large databases.

3) explain, interpret, exchange, and compare the results of their experiments in English both in its written and oral forms.

4) write reports about the results of their findings. In particular, they will develop the following skills:
•Acknowledging their sources
•Referencing, Summarizing and Paraphrasing
•Planning and writing the assignment
•Presentation and formatting including high quality photos
5) make oral presentations of their findings supported by clear, well-written visuals.
