    P E M D A S 8 - 1 ● 9 + 3
    A X U I D U
    R P L V D B (3 + 6) = 9
    E O T I I T 2^3 = 8
    N N I D T R
    T E P E T A
    H N L I C
    S N I 8 - 9= -1
    I O -1 + 3 = 2
    S N

    pemdas parenthesis (3 + 6) are first
    exponent 2^3 is next
    multiply 1 ● 9 goes next
    divide here was none
    add 1 + 3
    subtract 8 - 9

if it is division is in front of multiplication going left to right, then divide first. if subtraction is in front of addition going left to right, subtract.
