Sir Ralph Lane.
Although he never went to North America, I think Sir Walter Raleigh should be considered the founder.

Use the person in your book. If you read the Wiki article I linked, there were many men who could be considered the founder. Raleigh financed it. Other men came on two or more voyages to lead the colony.
oh ok, well i will put your men and the men in my book... cause i won't get points off for that cause i don't know so i will talk to my teacher about it :-)

It's not weird. It cost money to sail across the ocean and establish a colony.
