the sign reads: receive a $10 gift card for every $50 spent.
1) If your reward is $10, what do you know about the amount of your purchase?

2) Give three possible amounts if your reward is $20.

3) What should you do if your total purchase is $98? Explian answer.

  • math -

    You get: $10 / $50 = 1/5 = 0.20 = 20%
    of the amount spent.

    1. 10 = 0.2S,
    S = 10 / 0.2 = $50 Spent.

    2. 20 = 0.2A,
    A = 20 / 0.2 = $100.
    I can give only one amount.

    3. Reward = 0.2 * $98 = 19.60.
