Is x/a+y/b=1 a valid equation form of a line? If so why?
I assume you mean a "straight" line and that a and b are constants.
x/a + y/b = 1
multiply be ab to get
bx + ay = ab
which has the pattern of
Ax + By = C, the equation of a straight line.
