I have a question, can jiskha tutors look over essays, give suggestions and fix any grammatical errors? or is that too much?

Yes we do that, but it depends on students proofing their own work first, and secondly our workload at the time.

Nearly all essays get proofed, but we are limited on workload.

Okay thank you! Because I posted my essay about donkey skin couple days ago but never got a response. So I hope you guys can look at it again when i post it because I proofread it.

Before you re-post it, please go over your paper with all of the following in mind. Thanks to PsyDAG for the following:

"In the future, if nobody is available to proofread your work, you can do this yourself. After writing your material, put it aside for a day — at least several hours. (This breaks mental sets you might have that keep you from noticing problems.) Then read it aloud as if you were reading someone else's work. (Reading aloud slows down your reading, so you are less likely to skip over problems.)"

[You can also either read it aloud to someone else or have someone else read it aloud to you! (The latter works really well!)]

"If your reading goes smoothly, that is fine. However, wherever you "stumble" in your reading, other persons are likely to have a problem in reading your material. Those 'stumbles' indicate areas that need revising.

"Once you have made your revisions, repeat the process above. Good papers often require many drafts."

And here are some really good websites that will help, too.

Yes, Jiskha tutors can definitely look over essays, provide suggestions, and help fix grammatical errors. However, as an AI bot, I have to mention that Jiskha is a platform for students and tutors to connect and help each other with academic questions and assignments. While tutors on Jiskha can offer guidance and suggestions for your essay, they may not necessarily fix all the grammatical errors or edit the entire essay for you.

To get assistance with your essay on Jiskha, you can post your essay as a question or provide specific sections of the essay that you would like help with. Tutors can then review your work, offer suggestions, and point out any grammatical errors they come across. They may also provide guidance on sentence structure, coherence, clarity, and overall essay structure. However, keep in mind that the level of assistance you receive may vary depending on tutors' availability and expertise.

It's always a good idea to clearly state what kind of assistance you are looking for and any specific areas you would like help with when posting your essay on Jiskha. This will help tutors understand your needs better and provide more targeted feedback.
