    I agree, although a parent conference is also important.

    My experience is that wont be enough. Every parent has individual concerns that YOU need to know, and ferret out, or they come back to haunt you. I would have a conference with parents. The handbook can predict some, and answer them, however, my experience is that it wont be enough. I don't know which is the "right" answer. And from experience, I know many parents wont read the handbook, but still harbour concerns.
