my project is to use 4 index cards, scotch tape, and elmers white glue. I have to make something that will hold the weight of a text book without breaking. also it has to be one inch off the ground but no more than one inch. need help please

Sure, I'd be happy to help you with your project! Here's how you can use the materials you have to create a structure that can hold the weight of a textbook and meet the height requirement:

1. Start by placing two index cards parallel to each other, with a small gap between them.
2. Take another index card and fold it in half lengthwise to create a thicker strip. This strip will be used as a support beam.
3. Use scotch tape to attach the folded index card strip to the two parallel index cards, positioning it between them. This will give extra strength and stability to your structure.
4. Repeat the above steps to create a second set of parallel index cards with the folded strip attached.
5. Now, place these two sets of parallel index cards next to each other, with the folded strips facing each other. Make sure there is a small gap between them.
6. Cut two small pieces of index cards, approximately one inch in length. These will be used as connectors.
7. Tape one connector to the top of one set of parallel index cards, aligning it with the folded strip.
8. Do the same with the other connector and the second set of parallel index cards. These connectors will hold the structure together and prevent it from collapsing.
9. Apply Elmer's white glue to the top surface of the connectors and press another index card onto it. This will create a sturdy top surface for your structure.
10. To ensure that the structure stands one inch off the ground, you can place a small object like a bottle cap or rolled-up paper underneath each corner of the structure.

By following these steps, you can create a stable structure using the given materials that can hold the weight of a textbook while also satisfying the height requirement. Good luck with your project!
