How can teaching children the 4 basic shapes (circle, triangle, square and rectangle) be benificial to a five year old's mathematical development?
What is so important about knowing these four basic or simple shape?
Just very curios to find out.. thanks

Mathematics is not only linear numbers (2 + 2 = 4), but also spatial (shapes). A fiveyearold's brain is ready to recognize and verbalize about these basic shapes.
