If a plate is dropped and comes in contact with a hard floor vs a playe coming in contact with a carpet, which has the greater impulse?

  • Physics -

Impact is change momentum, or delta Velocity*mass. Don't they have the same change of velocity, and the same mass?

    Denke.

  • Physics -

Yeah, so therefor it is the same impulse?

    but J = FT
The force is the same but the T interaction is different? or something?

  • Physics -

If time of contact is different, then the forces are different. But implulse is the same.

  • Physics -

    thanks!
