After getting approval to do additional fundraising Chris and Lacey decided to participate in a walkathon to raise money for the shelter. Chris walked 5 miles less than twice the number of miles that Lacey walked. The students will collect $18 in pledges for every mile that they walked
Let n represent the number of miles Lacey walked

Write an expression for the number of miles that Chris walked and an expression for the amount of money that Chris collected in pledges
5-n(2)
18(c)
c=chris

asked by Jerald
  1. Chris = 2(Lacey) - 5
    That is 5 less than twice Lacey.

    Using

    chris: 5 - 2n
    18 chris or 18(5-2n)
