  1. What you'll do is add 3 and 8 to get the total:
    3 + 8 = 11
    Now we divide the total number of students by 11:
    132/11 = 12 (this is the multiplier for 3 and 8)
    Therefore,
    3 * 12 = 36 students (prefer baseball)
    8 * 12 = 96 students (prefer soccer)

    Hope this helps :3

  2. number for baseball --- 3x
    number for soccer ----- 8x
    (notice 3x : 8x = 3 : 8)

    3x+8x=132
    11x = 132
    x =12
    3x----->36
    8x -----> 96

  5. If you add 3+8, you will get 11

    Then you must divide 132 by 11 and get 12.

    12 is the multiplyer for the numbers 3 and 8
    Next, multiply 3 by 12 and you will get 36, multiply 8 by 12 and get 96

    Ther are 36 soccer fans and 96 baseball fans!!!!!

  9. If...
    Baseball = 3 Soccer = 8
    Then you add 3 and 8 to get 11 and do 132 divided by 11, which is 12
    12 is now the multiplier for 3 and 8.
    12 * 3 = 36 students chose baseball
    12 * 8 = 96 students chose soccer

    It looks like baseball is a wimp sport if only 36 people out of 132 people like it.
